This double CD is a sequel of two successful records - From Kajkavian Regions vol. 1 and From Kajkavian Regions vol. 2, which were released by BeST MUSIC in the 90s.

On these two compact discs, the ensemble presented some fifty vocal, instrumental and vocal-instrumental songs and compositions from Northwestern Croatia: Podravina, Hrvatsko Zagorje, Prigorje, Međimurje, Posavina, Moslavina, Turopolje, Gorski kotar and Pokuplje, which were not recorded on any of the first two volumes, but have become a part of LADO’s repertoire in the past 15 years.

Oh, Jesus Give me Tears - Lent songs of Slavonia, Baranja, Srijem and Bačka.

LADO ensemble’s album ‘Oh, Jesus Give me Tears’ contains carefully selected Lent songs originating in Šokci villages in Croatia, South Hungary and Vojvodina. It is a result of field research by Krunoslav Šokac in Baranja, Srijem and Bačka, and by Dražen Kurilovčan in Slavonia.

Album received the "Porin 2013" award for the best spiritual music album, while in the category of best performance of folklore music Porin was awarded to the song "O, žalosna majko, Sveta Divice" from the same album. The song was performed by the LADO Ensemble.

In this selection there were songs for which the melodies were forgotten, preserved in no records or memories. All that is left are some verses in the tradition of Križevci, which the author Božo Potočnik put to music with great respect, wishing to tie the broken strings of tradition in this traditional music which has not received enough attention.

The author’s intention was to make the songs acceptable to today’s generations which sing out of pristine joy of life. The melodies are aligned in stile with the heritage of the wider Kajkavian region, and some were already validated in practice.

Lado Vocalists is the name of the vocal ensemble in which the singers and dancers of the LADO ensemble perform, in a representative manner, the vocal musical tradition of Southern Croatian regions. This first independent album was envisioned as a journey through the most interesting parts of the liturgical year: Christmas songs and carols, songs dedicated to Virgin Mary, Lent and Easter songs.

The songs presented in Vocalists’ performances have many times been awarded prestigious music awards (Porin, Orlando, Varaždin Baroque Nights...)

Songs sung by Ana Kelin in her long and unique career are varied; some joyful and merry, some sad, regretful. The come from different regions and paint a musical picture of lives, fates and feelings of forgotten people from Međimurje, Dalmacija and Primorje, Prigorje and Hrvatsko Zagorje, Podravina, Lika, Pokuplje, Bilogora and Moslavina, Baranja, Slavonia, Austrian Burgenland...

She sang them and recorded independently, supported with LADO ensemble musicians or with Ladarice, and with HRT mandolin or tamburitza orchestras.
